The UK is a great place to visit if you fancy an adventure packed or sport filled holiday. The natural, and in parts, rugged landscape of the UK makes if a great destination for getting out and about in the great outdoors and kick starting the fitness routine!
Most adventure activities take place in the countryside, including pursuits like walking, biking and white water rafting and most are suitable for children from around the age of ten onwards depending on the activity.
Maybe you want to go walking in the mountains, or so called fells, of the Lake District or fancy a bigger challenge and want to walk from the west coast to the east coast of the country. The Lake District is also a great place to make the most of the numerous lakes and waters that the area is best known for by trying out waterskiing, wakeboarding or kayaking. There are rivers all over the UK that are wonderful places many activities including fishing and white water rafting. Finally, the rolling landscape of the UK makes it a fantastic place to go mountain biking – with plenty of leg aching uphill’s and rewarding downhill parts to make a great ride!

It doesn’t have to be all adventure though! An adventure trip to the UK is the perfect opportunity to stay in a cozy holiday cottage. A cottage in the UK countryside is a wonderful retreat from the world and is great when you have had a really busy day. Close the curtains and light the log fire and settle down for a relaxing evening, you are on holiday after all!

I’ve only been outside the U.S. once, as a tagalong on Glenn’s business trip to Belgium, such a beautiful city.
I’ve never been to the UK I would LOVE to go!
The good thing about going to the UK is that they speak English. Well, a slight variation of it 🙂
