Handprint Hedgehog Cards
If you’re as excited for fall as I am, then you’re not going to want to keep that excitement to yourself. You’re going to want to celebrate and share you exuberance with others. So get the kids together and make our Handprint Hedgehog Cards to pass around!
Our Handprint Hedgehog Cards are not only an adorable way to celebrate the season, but a very cute keepsake, too, with the child’s handprint used for the hedgehog spikes. And so making your own Handprint Hedgehog Cards even easier, we have a Handdrawn Hedgehog Template to print.

Aside from the template, you will also need a couple little hands to trace on cardstock. You will need large sheets of a dark brown cardstock for the main handprint and card shape, as well as a lighter brown, orange, green, purple, or any other fall-ish colors of choice.
The rest of the supplies include scissors, 1″ hole punch, googly eyes, glue, and a pen for your happy fall message.
Handprint Hedgehog Cards
Supplies needed:
- Hedgehog Template
- 12×12 sheet dark brown cardstock
- Regular size sheets of cardstock – lighter brown, orange, purple, etc.
- Medium size googly eyes
- 1” hole punch
- Scissors
- Glue
- Decorative pen or marker
- pencil
Start by folding a large sheet of dark brown cardstock in half. Place a little hand with the bottom of the hand along the fold and trace the handprint.
Cut out so that the bottom stays in tact and opens like a card. Trace the handprint again on your 2 choices of fall colored cardstock. Cut out.
Print the hedgehog template. Trace the template on the sheet of lighter brown cardstock and cut out. Glue the back of the template inside the handprint, with enough out of the handprint for the hedgehog’s face.
Punch a 1” circle out of a scrap of the dark brown cardstock and glue in place for the nose. Glue a googly eye in place.
Glue the 2 other fall-colored handprints on top of the end of the hedgehog template.

Just made a Hedgehog Handprint with my 5-year old student in Bacelona. I had him cut out the traced hands and it looked great. We also used a black pom pom for the nose.
