Handprint Lucky Gnome Craft

We don’t consider these just any gnomes. This is our Handprint Lucky Gnome Craft, a really fun craft for St. Patrick’s Day that incorporates a little sparkly handprint for the gnome beard!

Gnomes are known for good luck anyway, which makes them a perfect craft for St. Patrick’s Day. These gnomes I happen to think are extra lucky. Or maybe the recipient is the lucky one, with a craft containing those cute handprints.

Make a St. Patrick’s Day Gnome Craft

To make our Handprint Lucky Gnome Craft you will need white or cream colored glitter paper, cardstock in green, orange, yellow, and brown, markers for decoration, scissors, and a glue stick.

Handprint Lucky Gnome Craft supplies needed.

A ⅝” circle punch is also recommended.

Handprint Gnome Craft Supplies Needed

  • White or cream glitter paper
  • Cardstock – darker green, lighter green, orange, yellow, brown
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • ⅝” circle punch (optional)

Lucky Gnome Handprint Craft Step by Step Instructions

Begin by tracing the little one’s handprint.

Trace handprint on glitter paper.

It’s easiest to trace on the back of the glitter paper.

Cut out handprint.

Cut out the handprint.

Cut cardstock sheets in half.

Now, cut a sheet of green cardstock in half for the base. Cut another sheet of a different color of green in half, as well. We also used orange and yellow, too.

Glue handprint to cardstock.

Glue the handprint to one of the green cards with the fingers pointed towards the bottom.

Cut long triangle hat.

Cut a long triangle shape out of one of the green cards, wide enough to fit the handprint.

Small brown cardstock circle for nose.

Use the circle punch, or simply cut, a small circle from the brown cardstock.

Glue nose in center of handprint.

Glue the circle in the center of the handprint.

Glue hat over handprint.

And position the hat over half the nose and the rest of the handprint.

Draw shamrocks on hat with green marker.

Finally, draw some shamrocks on the hat with a green marker. We also drew a simple rainbow on our yellow gnome’s hat, as well.
