Handprint Paper Bag Owl Craft
It’s close to impossible to go through the fall season without constructing an owl craft. With that said, check out our Handprint Paper Bag Owl Craft! Not only is this craft a good ol’ hoot, but it uses handprints as the owl’s wings. I think that covers all the bases for a great fall kids craft.

The thing I really love about crafting owls is that you can make them as colorful and creative as you can imagine. Blue and orange, pink and green, the color combinations are always endless! Whooo doesn’t love that? And they turn out so cute every time.

Fall Paper Bag Handprint Owls Craft
To make our darling handprint owls you will need brown paper lunch bags, acrylic paint in the color of your choice, cardstock in yellow and colors of choice, metallic markers, medium to large googly eyes, scissors, and a glue stick.

Paper Bag Owl Craft Supplies Needed
- Brown paper lunch bags
- Acrylic paint – colors of choice
- Cardstock – yellow, colors of choice
- Metallic markers
- Googly eyes, medium to large
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Handprint Owl Craft Step by Step Directions
Begin by picking the paint and cardstock colors of your choice for your owl.

Paint the entire front of a paper lunch bag. Let it dry completely.

While the paint is drying, trace handprints on the color cardstock of your choice. You will need 2 handprints for each owl.

Cut out the handprints.

Now, once the paint on the bag is dry, glue the handprints with the wrist part of the handprint starting under the flap of the bag.

Next, cut the bag excess below the handprints.

Cut a long U shape in the cut off piece of the bag for the owl’s ears.

Glue the ears to the top of the bag.

Add googly eyes.

Cut a small triangle from yellow cardstock and glue in place for the beak.

Finally, use markers to draw colorful details on the wings. We used metallic markers, because we love our metallic markers. But regular markers would work, as well.

We also made owls without paint, too. These came out just as cute as the painted ones!

Whooo loves this cute owl craft? We do!
