Kids look forward to their own birthday all year long. Make your child happy on their very special day with a birthday party they’ll love.
Creating a Theme
One of the first things you’ll want to do is come up with a theme. Think closely about your child’s interests. Many children have hobbies like ballet class and sports teams. They might like a particular type of story, such as the Little House on the Prairie books or fantasy novels.
These are all good sources of inspiration that you can use to plan a party. Let them come up with a few themes, and then you can decide on the final plans together.
Charming Decorations
Decorations make any party come to life. You’ll want to turn your interior and exterior spaces into places where kids can enjoy.
Start by putting up a table in one corner. Kids can leave gifts like L.O.L. Surprise! Tweens on the table when they first come inside. Lots of other decorations should be in place.
Drape a happy birthday sign across one side of the room where you are keeping the birthday cake. Balloons are a good choice. Blow up several and hang them along the walls. Add a few special helium balloons with the name of the birthday child across one end.
The Menu
A good kid’s party menu will have several elements to it. First, you want to make sure the adults have something to eat. Bring out at least several appetizers and a main course with a more grown-up slant.
Blanched vegetables with a few kinds of dips are easy and please adults and children. Adults and children also like food such as fried chicken that can be served hot or cold. Kids like finger foods. Cut up sandwiches into smaller pieces to delight the little ones. It’s best to keep things basic.
Old favorites like peanut butter and jelly are welcome, along with lightly seasoned egg salad. Make sure you have enough silverware for each person with enough napkins to help clean up any spills.
The Presents
It can be difficult to purchase a gift for the kid who has everything. You should consider what the child actually likes and if the child would enjoy the gift. Look for toys that are good for all ages, can be played with multiple people, and can learn from. If you’re still having trouble, look out for the most popular and trendy toys today such as L.O.L. Surprise! Tweens dolls. For even more fun, on July 7th at 9 a.m. PST/12 p.m. EST, L.O.L. Surprise is having their 707 Day, a free virtual event and concert.
Fun Activities
Everyone at the party should have lots of fun games. Kids activities and games are easy to organize. If you have a backyard, make use of it. Set up lots of activities that kids of all ages can do. Outdoor games such as hopscotch are a good idea.
This is also a good place to put up an obstacle course. A backyard makes a great place to set up a movie. Offer movies designed for kids in one corner of the yard with lots of seating and a few tubs of popcorn nearby.
Another table can hold board games like Jenga and Uno for any older kids to play with. A good combination of varied types of activities will make any kid’s birthday party a success.
Pay Close attention to detail will pay off with a party your kid will and their friends will adore.
