Interactive Paper Haunted House Craft
Who says a haunted house has to be scary? Maybe it’s occupied with a friendly ghost. Your haunted house, your story. I mean, by all accounts our Interactive Paper Haunted House Craft should be scary, and can be, but I love the way they turned out so much I mostly just feel giddy when I look at them.
Do you like Halloween? It’s one of my favorite holidays, and such a fun event to craft for. You can go spooky, eerie, campy, or crazy. It all works. Then there’s the ideas that take you by surprise. And we were kind of surprised at how awesome this Interactive Paper Haunted House Craft with their resident ghost peeking from the door and windows turned out.
For our Interactive Paper Haunted House Craft you will need cardstock in a variety of colors. You will need one color for the house itself and then one for inside the house. We used blue, red, purple, and green for the house with yellow, orange, and black inside. Plus, you’ll need white cardstock for the ghost. The rest of the supplies include a black sharpie, craft sticks, scissors, a stapler, and a glue stick.
Interactive Paper Haunted House Craft
Supplies needed:
- Cardstock – black, yellow, orange, red, blue, purple, green, white
- Black sharpie
- Craft sticks
- Scissors
- Stapler
- Glue stick
Begin by drawing your house on a sheet of colored cardstock with a black sharpie.
The great thing about a haunted house is that none of the lines need to be even. Just make it however you want. The only thing is that the lines to be visible and able to guide a cut. No ultra fine-tip, here.
Line up another colored sheet of cardstock behind the house color. Use the lines of the house to carefully cut both sheets in the same shape.
Now, cut the side and top of the door, then fold open.
Carefully insert the tip of the scissors inside the windows. Cut the windows out.
Cut a rectangle the same size as the house and glue to the bottom of the house. Use the black marker to draw a line on the bottom of the door. Cut off any excess.
Glue the edges of the roof of the outside house color to the roof of the inside house color.
Staple around the 2 sides, leaving the bottom of the house open.
Next, cut a small ghost shape from the white cardstock.
Draw circles for the eyes and mouth with the black marker. Glue the ghost to the top of a craft stick.
And your ghost is now ready to spook!
