This past Saturday, my kids and I donned our best martial arts headbands for a small screening party of the series premiere of Kauijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters on The Hub TV network.
Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters is about a boy who must learn to work with magical creatures in the way of Kaijudo in order to save the world. I was initially concerned with how my kids would take to the show since they’re not all that familiar with anime. But my 8 year old son really enjoyed watching it and my 6 year old son, more into animation than his older brother, jumped in excitement at the different creatures as well. I saw a lot of my boys in Ray, who isn’t as much a superhero as just a regular kid faced with an extraordinary circumstance. There was also a great underlying message of anti-bullying that I appreciated as a parent.
Be sure to check out the next episode of Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters tomorrow night, Saturday, at 8 pm ET on Hub!
I was sent promotional items for the purpose of hosting a viewing party. No other compensation was received. Opinions are mine.
