Supplies needed:
- Acrylic paint – assortment of colors
- Cardstock – white, black, and color of choice for center of flowers
- Green paper
- Black sharpie
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Begin by painting pictures on white cardstock.
Whatever you paint is up to you. And however you paint is up to you, as well. But the more colors the better, and cover as much of the paper as possible. Let dry. You will need 2 painted pictures for each flower.
Once dry, take one of the paintings and using the black marker draw a large circle encompassing most of the painted picture. It doesn’t need to be an exact circle. Then draw lines like pizza slices toward the center. Do the same on the other painting, only make the circle smaller.
Cut both out around the circle outline. Then snip along the slices, careful not to cut the lines into each other to snip away petals.
Apply glue stick to the center of the larger painting and adhere the smaller piece to the center.
Cut two circles to fit inside the center of the flower from the black and another color cardstock. The color cardstock circle should be slightly smaller than the black circle.
Draw small dashes with a black marker on the center colored cardstock circle. Glue the colored cardstock on top of the black then glue in the center of the flower. Slightly fold the petals of the flower up around the center circles.
Finally, make the stem. For this, fold a piece of green paper over and over itself. It should be about 1” in width. Glue to secure.
Adhere the flower to the top of the stem. Use more green paper to cut 2 leaves. Draw details with the black marker and adhere in place.
This is such a fun project! We hope you love it as much as we do! And be sure to check out more of our fun spring craft ideas at Our Kid Things!
