Admittedly, I am not the best driver. I’ve been told this, actually. And really, I don’t tend to like driving, though there are times when it is nice to just get away for awhile. It is a necessity, and one I’ve grown to tolerate.
But again, I’m not the safest driver. I take my turns too fast, I have a habit of waiting until the very last minute to apply my brakes. Not to mention I’m very impatient with those in front of me. It makes those riding with me just a little anxious.
As such, I may need outside help when it’s time to teach my oldest son how to drive. I know he’s only 9 now, but proper driver’s education classes for him start in 6 short years. It’s already a milestone I’m very well aware of, and terrified of stepping into. It’s never too early to learn the rights and wrongs of driving, however. Though I know he watches my every move and I may not be leading by the best example.
It’s also never too late to learn how to drive better, and maybe I should brush up on my driver’s education, too.
I don’t mean to take my turns like I’m in NASCAR, it just happens sometimes. The good news is, I’ve yet to wreck or crash into anything. So I guess I must be doing something right. Right?
