Mini Calm Down Glitter Tubes
Get some peace, quiet, and love on Valentine’s Day with these Mini Calm Down Glitter Tubes!
Since my kids are older, our favorite kinds of crafts are those that we can get some use out of afterwards. Like jewelry or globes that we can watch as the glitter falls. Those two ideas are put together in these Mini Calm Down Glitter Tubes!
The glitter actually came in these tubes, which made it all the easier. However, since I wanted to combine colors, and because I didn’t want quite as much glitter as each tube contained, I did have to empty the glitter in the crease of folded pieces of paper. For Valentine’s Day we used pink and purple in one, purple and silver in another, pink and silver in yet another. We also included a few heart gems. “Find the Hearts” can be a great calm down game that should give you a few minutes of quiet, at least.
Add enough baby oil to fill the tube and secure your top on securely. If you’re worried about it coming off, apply a bit of super glue. Tie on some string for a necklace, and you have some wonderful Valentine’s Day Mini Calm Down Tubes!
Mini Calm Down Glitter Tubes
Supplies needed:
- mini glitter shaker tubes
- fine glitter
- baby oil
- heart gems
- necklace string
- super glue (optional)
First, fold sheets of scrap paper. Pop the top off each tube and empty glitter from each tube onto it’s separate sheet of paper. Then, scoop the colors you’d like into each tube, filling about 1/3 of the way. We used pink and purple in one tube, purple and silver in another, and pink and silver in another. Add a few heart gems into each tube, as well.
Fill with baby oil. You’ll want to top off once the baby oil settles. Secure the top back on, applying super glue if needed.
In the loop on each top, slide through and tied the necklace string. These Mini Calm Down Tubes are so cute and so sweet, your kids and their friends are going to love them as Valentine’s Day gifts! They’re also great to take along to a restaurant or in the car, just whenever your kids need to be awed and quiet for a minute.
