If ever there’s a holiday where I adore getting from-the-heart, handmade little gifts, it’s Mother’s Day. Handprint crafts like our Mother’s Day Handprint Flowers Craft is an especially nice keepsake and a great way to show some love for mom!
Each handprint in our Mother’s Day Handprint Flowers Craft is a folded card, so you can write Happy Mother’s Day! We love you, Mom! And use another card to write all the reasons why your mom is the best mom ever. Fill it with words like nice, kind, sweet, gives good hugs, pretty, or the best adjectives to describe mom.
For our Mother’s Day Handprint Flowers Craft your little one will first need to supply their handprint. Trace it onto colored cardstock in pretty spring, flowery colors and gather brown and yellow cardstock, too. Aside from that, the rest of the supplies include green pipe cleaners, a single hole punch, black pen or marker, school glue, and scissors.
Mother’s Day Handprint Flowers Craft
- Cardstock – pink, purple, orange, etc & yellow, brown
- Green pipe cleaners
- Single hole punch
- Black pen or marker
- School glue
Begin by folding a sheet of flowery colored cardstock in half.
Tracing a little handprint so the bottom of the handprint meets the fold, so the handprint can open like a card.
Write your Mother’s Day messages on the inside of the handprint.
Make a hole punch towards the bottom of the handprint.
Take a green pipe cleaner, thread an end through the hole, and twist to secure for the stem. Cut a piece off the other end and form into a leaf shape. Attach to the stem.
Cut a vase shape from the yellow paper. Make it a simple rectangle or get fancy with it.
Apply glue to just the edges of the vase, leaving the top unglued. Glue vase to the bottom of a sheet of brown cardstock, puffing the vase shape out slightly so there’s an opening at top. Let dry.
Slide handprint flowers into vase.
A Mother’s Day gift I know I would love to receive! Be sure to check out more of our Mother’s Day ideas at Our Kid Things!
