Mummy Treat Cups
Halloween is getting closer and the school trick or treating parties are, too. But if you don’t just want to show up with a handful of candy, we have an idea that every-mummy will love. Yes, more mummies! It’s our Mummy Treat Cups!
We are just a tad crazy over mummies this year. We’ve made Mummy Meatballs, Yarn-Wrapped Mummy Rocks, and our ever-popular Mummy Paper Plate Lacing Craft. These Mummy Treat Cups are super easy, so cute, and I love the addition of the glowing green and orange googly eyes. They’re the perfect party favor that a room full of kids might just unravel over. Packed with all kinds of goodies, too, of course.
As an alternative, we’ve made Mummy Cups before using with a plastic water bottle, paper strips, and ribbon. We then put tea lights inside to gently light up a window. These Mummy Treat Cups are a variation on that idea, but now, we want our mummies to hold candy! For our Mummy Treat Cups, you’ll need white paper cups, white cardstock, googly eyes, an xacto knife, rolled gauze, as well as scissors and glue.
Mummy Treat Cups
Supplies needed:
- White Paper Cups
- White Cardstock
- Scissors
- Glue
- Googly Eyes
- Xacto Knife
- Rolled Gauze
First, use an xacto knife to cut the bottom out of the white paper cup. An adult will be needed for this step.
Turn the cup upside down on a piece of white cardstock and trace around the cup.
Cut the circle from the cardstock and glue to the bottom of the paper cup. Trim off any excess. Glue googly eyes onto the paper cup.
Cut rolled gauze in half. Wrap gauze around the paper cup. Overlap to get the best results. Add dabs of glue to hold the gauze in place. Allow the glue to dry.
Add candy and small toys to the treat cups for a fun and spooky Halloween party favor that every-mummy will fall head over heels for! And be sure to check out more of our fun Halloween craft and recipe ideas at Our Kid Things!
