For kids who love to build and create, like my youngest two, there can never be enough blocks. I love witnessing their imaginative ideas come to life and their little fingers at work furiously constructing. They’re also a great activity to help fill in the gaps of an afternoon. There’s nothing wrong with switching it up, however.
Nanoblocks, from the Ohio Art Company, are a great way to switch it up. Available at Target, nanoblocks are a micro-sized building block system. Like the regular blocks you’re used to, only much smaller. This allows greater detail, but also could allow greater frustration. For that fact, nanoblocks are recommended for ages 8 and up.
We were sent a mini series and Sites-to-See for review. For our mini series we made a Terrier puppy dog. With 110 pieces and level 2 difficulty, my kids needed a bit of help to place all pieces correctly. Once done, however, it was awfully cute and tiny. The Sites-to-See is of Kaminarimon in Japan. We haven’t put it together yet, but it should be really neat.
Nanoblocks are currently available at Target with prices ranging from $11 for the mini series to $27 for Sites-to-See. Be sure to follow nanoblock on Facebook for more information!
