Supplies needed:
- Printable Template
- Colored craft papers
- Glitter foam sheet
- Craft sticks
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Glue
Grab all the colored craft paper you have, this is a great craft project to use all those scrap papers.
Cut or tear the colored paper into small pieces. I’ve cut the papers into 2 cm x 2cm squares, more or less, depending on your choice.
Grab a paper of at least 4 inches x 4 inches size. Gather all the small paper cutouts. Start to stick the colored craft paper pieces on the selected larger paper. Overlap the colored craft paper pieces while sticking them on the larger paper.
Try to fill the larger paper with the paper patchwork. Try not to leave any gap between the paper patchworks. The patchwork should be enough to trace the star pattern inside it.
Use a pencil to trace a 5 point star pattern inside the patchworks or use the printable template. Cut out the star pattern.
Trace or draw another star pattern, but this one should be slightly bigger than the patch worked star. Glue the patch worked star on the plain star pattern. Attach the star on a craft stick and cut out another star or star-like pattern from glitter foam sheet, attach it in the center of the paper star pattern.
I can’t believe it’s almost the start to a new year, can you? Here’s to hoping all your wishes come true! And be sure to check out more of our kid-friendly New Year’s ideas at Our Kid Things!
