Octopus Pool Pals
We’re already spending as much time as possible in our backyard pool this summer break. It’s truthfully one of the few ways I can get my kids to play outside without complaining when it’s hot. But a pool is always better with friends. Meet our Octopus Pool Pals.
Super easy to make, our Octopus Pool Pals are made with red plastic cups. The great thing about these cups is that they have a design embedded in the cup perfectly spaced to make cuts for our Octopus Pool Pals’ tentacles. Glue on some googly eyes, with strong waterproof glue, and you have a few more friends to share the pool with!
Octopus Pool Pals
Supplies needed:
- large plastic red cups
- large googly eyes
- waterproof glue (that’s also made to bond plastic)
- scissors
Make snips about halfway up your cup, each as evenly spaced as possible, until you’ve made your way all the way around. Bend each piece so that it lays flat.
Glue on googly eyes. Let dry completely.
And splash away with your pool pals! They’re fun to fill with water, toss around in the pool, or let skim along the surface. They’d make great toys at bathtime, too!
