Paint Chip Pinwheels
Even if I’m not painting a room, I still can’t resist paint chips. They’re just so colorful lined up in their case in the paint department. As such, I tend to grab a few every time I pass. Until I’ve accumulated enough for some fun, colorful crafts. Like these Paint Chip Pinwheels.
These Paint Chip Pinwheels are really easy and really fun and so colorful and bright for summer. Simply glue your paint chips onto one another in a circle pattern then cut a couple circular pieces of paper and punch a hole in the middle of those before gluing them in the middle. Finally, take a large straw and safely snip a small slice on one end for your fasteners. Voila!
They’re like a rainbow flower. That spins!
Paint Chip Pinwheels
Supplies needed:
- paint chips in assorted colors
- large straw
- paper fasteners
- cardstock
- glue
- scissors
- hole punch
Take your paint chips and position them in a circle pattern. The smaller hole in the middle, the better. Once positioned how you want, glue one onto the other all the way around.
Cut 2 circular pieces of cardstock, large enough to fit the middle of the pinwheel. Punch a hole in the middle of both and glue them on so holes aligned. I only had brown cardstock available, so I cut a piece of yellow paper to roughly the same size, punched a hole and glued that to the front as well.
Very carefully, an adult should do this, slice a small hole about an inch down from the top of a large straw. Slide your fastener through the hole, then push it through the other side of the straw as well. Fasten it.
Such a bright flower for summer, I can’t think of anything better to do with a bunch of colorful paint chips! Though this Color Strips Glass Calendar was a good idea, too.
