It doesn’t get much more fun than these Paper Bag Dad Puppets, but we have a few more ideas for Father’s Day, too. There’s these Super Dad Cards which are absolutely adorable and so simple to make. We also have our To the Moon Hand and Footprint Rocket Keepsake that I know dad will cherish for years to come. Another great idea is our Super Hero Father’s Day Crossword printable. For our Paper Bag Dad Puppets you will need to start with brown paper lunch bags. Then, you’ll need acrylic paint in your choice of shirt color, cardstock in your choice of tie and hair color, a glue stick, large googly eyes, orange paper for the nose, scissors, and a black sharpie.
Paper Bag Dad Puppet
Supplies needed:
- Brown paper lunch bag
- Cardstock – choice of tie and hair color
- Paint – choice of shirt color
- Orange paper
- 1” circle paper punch (optional)
- Large googly eyes
- Black sharpie
- Glue stick
- Scissors
Start by painting the front of a brown paper lunch bag your choice of shirt color.
Paint everything up to and under the flap. Let dry.
Cut out a tie shape from your choice of colored cardstock. We did numerous different styles with different kinds of paper and it all depends on what kinds of paper you have on hand.
We cut our tie in 2 separate pieces, the knot and main tie shape. Glue together.
Lift the flap of the lunch bag and glue the tie in the middle of the bag.
Cut a hair shape out of your dad’s hair color of cardstock. Make it spiky, jagged, or leave flat. Whatever your dad’s style. Or, if your dad’s bald, leave the hair off.
Glue to the top of the back of the paper bag.
Use the 1” circle punch to make circles from the orange paper, or simply cut out. Glue to the middle of the top section.
Draw a mouth under the nose with a black sharpie.
Adhere 2 large googly eyes around the nose.
We’re quite enamored with our Paper Bag Dad. A great craft for a great guy in your life. But there’s more! Be sure to check out all of our many more kids craft ideas at Our Kid Things!
