Paper Bag Hedgehog Craft
So, have I maybe sort of mentioned that I absolutely adore everything about the fall season? I might be a bit giddy at the thought of changing leaves, long sleeves, hot cups of coffee, and not sweating buckets every time I step outside. I also adore fall animals, like bears and owls and hedgehogs. And I’m so excited to share our Paper Bag Hedgehog Craft with you!
Perfect for fall, this Paper Bag Hedgehog Craft couldn’t be any cuter. We love the simple brown paper bag against the bright cardstock spikes, and of course the adorable round hedgehog nose. But if you’re looking for another hedgehog craft idea, our Handprint Hedgehog Cards are not only a great fall craft, but a wonderful keepsake and card craft, too.
For our Paper Bag Hedgehog Craft you will need a brown paper lunch bag, small googly eyes, black cardstock, black marker, 1″ circle paper punch, scissors, tape, and glue. You will also need colorful cardstock. We used cardstock with dots, but you can try different designs or simply go plain and colorful!
Paper Bag Hedgehog Craft
Supplies needed:
- Brown paper bag
- Cardstock – variety of colors/designs and black
- Small googly eyes
- 1″ circle paper punch
- Black marker
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Tape
Begin by making the hedgehog’s pointy face with the bag.
For this, lift the flap up. Form into a triangle shape. Tape to secure.
Cut the excess from the folded pieces so that the bag will lie flat again.
Punch a circle from the black cardstock. Glue in place on the pointy tip.
Also glue on googly eyes.
Place the bag on a piece of colored cardstock. Draw an oval-like shape around the top 3/4 or so of the bag.
Cut out the oval shape and begin making random pointy cuts around it.
Once all points are made all around the oval, glue to the back of the paper bag.
Cut the excess from the bottom of the bag.
With the paper bag excess, form 2 arms and 2 legs. The arms are simply rectangles rounded on one end and the legs are wider versions of the same.
Draw 3 lines on each with black marker for toes then glue in place.
Make more with all different colors!
This is such a fun fall craft! We hope you enjoy making these little critters as much as we did. And be sure to check out all of our many more fun fall crafts at Our Kid Things!
