Paper Bag Love Bear
When it comes to Valentine’s Day crafts, I’m pretty sure there’s nothing in the world cuter than this Paper Bag Love Bear Craft. The best part, though, is that we made it to where it can open and be used in the classroom as a Valentine card holder.
We are a big fan of paper bag crafts around here. There’s just so much you can do with them. We have our Paper Bag Love Cow, Paper Bag Dad Craft, our Paper Bag Winter Gnomes, this adorable Paper Bag Hedgehog Craft, and our Paper Bag Robot Craft, just to name a few.
To make our Paper Bag Love Bear Craft and Valentine Card holder, you will need brown paper lunch bags, cardstock in red, brown, and black, a black sharpie, medium googly eyes, a 1” circle paper punch, scissors, and glue.
Paper Bag Love Bear
Supplies needed:
- Paper lunch bags
- Cardstock – red, brown, black
- Black sharpie
- Googly eyes, medium
- 1” circle paper punch
- Scissors
- Glue
Instead of using the bottom flap of the bag as the head of the craft, we’ll be forming our bear where the bag opens. That way the bag can open and hold class Valentines.
Begin by cutting out the pieces for the bear. From the brown cardstock, you will need a large circle and a rounded rectangle piece. Use the 1” circle paper punch to punch 2 circles from the brown cardstock You will also need to punch 1 circle from the black cardstock.
Use the black marker to color a circle inside the two punched out brown circles. Also draw 3 toe lines on both sides of the rounded rectangle.
Cut the rounded rectangle in half.
Glue the larger circle towards the top of the bag. Leave enough room for the eyes. Glue the black circle inside, towards the top, of the larger circle.
Draw a mouth from the nose.
Glue the eyes in place.
Also glue the ears behind the front of the bag.
Fold just the end of the paw pieces. Glue only the folded part to the inside side of the bag.
Then, from the red cardstock, cut 5 hearts of the same size. The best way to do this is to cut 1 heart, make sure it’s a size that fits under the nose and above the flap of the bag,, then use that heart as a template for the other 4 hearts.
Fold all the hearts in half. Glue one side of a heart to the side of another heart until all hearts are glued.
Then glue to the bag in the center between the paws.
Fold the paws over the front. Glue the paws to the first heart.
This love bear will definitely hold your heart! And it’s such a cute way to hold the Valentines from classmates, too.

This is absolutely adorable! I can hardly wait to make this with my kids!
Thank you so much!
I there a printable template for the shapes and parts that I can get or purchase? If so, where can I find it?
This craft was not made with a template, as the pieces were pretty easy to be cut by eye or with a paper punch. I have it noted, though, that I may need to make one in the future.
