Paper Bag Scarecrow Craft
Who’s ready for fall? My hand is high in the air. I think the seasons may be turning a corner around these parts at long last, and I am so excited to finally feel some autumn weather. What I’m also excited about is sharing our darling Paper Bag Scarecrow Craft with you all!
I do love our paper bag crafts. We made a really cute Paper Bag Dad Craft for Father’s Day that’s along the same lines as our Paper Bag Scarecrow Craft. We also really enjoyed this Paper Bag Hedgehog Craft, our Love Cow Paper Bag Craft is so cute, gotta love a Paper Bag Robot Craft, and these Paper Bag Houses are so easy to create.
For our Paper Bag Scarecrow Craft you will need brown paper lunch bags, acrylic paints in fall colors, medium googly eyes, small buttons, a black sharpie, 1” circle paper punch, scissors, and a glue stick. You will also need cardstock in yellow, scraps of orange, brown, and pink, as well as different colors for the scarecrow hats.
Paper Bag Scarecrow Craft
Supplies needed:
- Acrylic paint – red, orange, green, brown, etc.
- Cardstock – yellow, orange, pink, brown, various colors
- Medium googly eyes
- Small buttons
- Black sharpie
- 1” circle paper punch
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Begin by painting the paper bags.
Lift the flap of the bag and paint everything from under the flap down. Let dry.
Cut 9 thin strips of yellow cardstock. Adhere 3 randomly on each side of the scarecrow’s head.
Also cut 2 rectangles for the scarecrow patches. Glue somewhere on the scarecrow.
Cut a triangle from a sheet of colored cardstock. Make sure it’s wide enough to fit across the bag. Glue to the top of the bag, over the tops of the yellow strips. Glue the last 3 yellow strips behind the top of the hat.
Snip a strip of brown cardstock to fit across the hat. Cut excess.
Glue a small button to the brown strip.
Use the black sharpie to form sewing lines on the patches.
Also, use the black sharpie to form a wavy smile. Add a few sewing lines on the smile, as well.
Adhere two googly eyes. Then, punch 2 circles from the pink cardstock and glue to the sides of the mouth. Also cut a small triangle from the orange cardstock and glue in place for the nose.
Here’s to lots of crafting fun this fall season, and we hope you start with this darling Paper Bag Scarecrow Craft! And be sure to check out more of our fall crafts at Our Kid Things!
