What’s so stinking cute, unbelievably sweet, and absolutely adorable? One may not immediately think the answer is a mouse, but our Paper Heart Mice Craft will make you change your mind.
We’ve made some really fun crafts for Valentine’s Day recently. Our Flowering Hearts Cactus Craft, Paper Plate Winter Love Birds, and Dinosaur Valentine Craft just to name a few. This Paper Heart Mice Craft is definitely among the favorites! And, it’s so easy, you can seriously make a bunch of mice in a matter of minutes. No traps required.
For our Paper Heart Mice Craft you will need colorful cardstock. For our mice, we used sheets of cardstock in two different shades of the same color for each mouse. Pink yarn, a 1” circle paper punch, white marker, small googly eyes, scissors, and glue are the rest of the supplies needed.
Paper Heart Mice Craft
- Cardstock – pink, black, and an assortment of colors
- Pink yarn
- White marker
- 1” circle paper punch
- Small googly eyes
- Single hole punch (optional)
First, take two sheets of cardstock. We used two different shades of the same color. Stack one on the other and fold both in half.
Cut a medium size heart shape through both pieces. Make sure the humps of the heart are big enough to make ears.
Take one of the hearts and fold over the humps of the heart.
Glue the top of the folded heart onto the top of the other heart.
Use the 1” circle punch to punch a circle from the pink paper. Cut the circle in half and glue each half inside a folded ear.
Glue small googly eyes onto the center of the front heart. Use the single hole punch or cut a small circle from the black paper and glue onto the tip of the heart for the nose. Draw two whiskers on each side of the nose.
Snip a strand of yarn about 4” long. Apply a bit of glue to one end of the yarn and roll between fingers to keep from fraying. Glue that end onto the center point of the back heart.
