Paper Loop Pufferfish Craft
I think we have a thing for pufferfish. How can you not, though? Everything about them is just so round and cute. And how can you not have a thing for this Paper Loop Pufferfish Craft? The way it puffs up off the page, adorable!
This craft is really pretty simple, as well, using not much more than cardstock. Roll it up, staple it on a blue ocean background, add bubbles for more roundness, and you have the cutest little fish in the sea!

Paper Loop Pufferfish Craft
Supplies needed:
- Cardstock – blue, assorted colors
- Paper – white, black
- 2”, 1.5”, 1” circle hole punches
- White marker or paint pen
- Stapler
- Glue stick
- Scissors
Begin by taking a sheet of blue cardstock and cutting in half.
This is your ocean base.
Now, take a sheet of cardstock the color of the fish you want to make and cut it into about a 3” strip. It should be just smaller than your blue base.
A
Use the white marker or paint pen to draw a circular mouth near the center of the strip. Also add white dots around the strip in varying sizes.
Roll the strip into a loop and staple closed.
Then staple onto the blue base.
Punch circles out of the regular white paper with the larger size hole punch. We made some of our eyes super large with the 2” punch and some were smaller with the 1.5”. Then use the next size down to punch circles from the black paper.
Glue the black circles onto the white circles and glue onto the pufferfish.
Cut fin shapes out of the same color as your fish.
Draw white lines on the fins with the marker.
Glue the fins onto the sides of the loop.
Finally, draw some bubbles coming away from the pufferfish.
And there you have puffed up pufferfish!
Such a fun addition to any ocean theme! Be sure to check out more of our summer crafts for kids at Our Kid Things!
