Paper Plate Bat Craft
Are you ready to go batty with our Paper Plate Bat Craft? I hope so, because it’s a good one!
Not only is this a craft right in the Halloween spirit, but it uses just a few supplies for a bat-nificent effect. Bats have been one of our go-to craft subjects this time of year and our Halloween Spoon Bats as well as Bottle Cap Bats are just a few more creative ideas.
But this Paper Plate Bat Craft? Might just be our best bat craft yet and it needs only a paper plate, black paint, googly eyes, and scrap pieces of yellow paper along with the usual glue and scissors.

Supplies needed:
- paper plate
- black acrylic paint
- 2 medium size googly eyes
- scrap pieces of yellow paper
- scissors
- school glue
Start by painting the paper plate black. Let dry.
You could skip this step by starting with a store bought black plate, of course.
Cut the plate in half. Cut one of the halves in half again. So you have one bigger piece and two smaller. Cut a long V out of the top of the bigger piece. Cut jagged edges on one side of the two smaller pieces.
Glue the two smaller pieces on either side in place for wings. Turn over and let sit to dry and fully adhere.
Adhere googly eyes. Cut two small triangles out of the yellow paper and glue in place for bat teeth.
If you tried this Paper Plate Bat Craft, I’d love to know how it turned out! And be sure to find more Halloween crafts and spooky ideas at Our Kid Things!
