Paper Plate Clothespin Hedgehogs Craft
This Paper Plate Clothespin Hedgehogs Craft combines 3 of my favorite things; fall, hedgehogs, and cute paper plate crafts!
We do love hedgehog crafts around here. We made these Handprint Hedgehog Cards to welcome fall and our Paper Bag Hedgehog Craft is so absolutely adorable. I believe this Paper Plate Clothespin Hedgehogs Craft fits right in with the cute and adorable!
For our Paper Plate Clothespin Hedgehogs Craft you will need a paper plate, wood clothespins, brown paint, brown cardstock, our trusty 1” circle paper punch, small googly eyes, black sharpie, scissors, and a glue stick. You will also need cardstock for the hedgehog face. We used pale yellow and orange, though it would be fun to experiment with other colors.
Paper Plate Clothespin Hedgehogs Craft
Supplies needed:
- Paper plate
- Wood clothespins
- Brown paint
- Cardstock – dark brown, pale yellow, orange, etc.
- Small googly eyes
- 1” circle paper punch
- Black sharpie
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Begin by painting the paper plate.
Paint a darker brown color.
Also paint the clothespins the same brown color. Let all dry.
Cut the paper plate in half. One paper plate will make 2 hedgehogs.
Cut a half circle shape from the cardstock for the hedgehog’s face area. Glue in the center of the paper plate, with the bottom in line with the bottom of the plate.
Punch a circle from the dark brown cardstock. Glue towards the bottom of the face area. Draw a small mouth with the black sharpie. Adhere googly eyes.
Stick clothespins all around the paper plate. We started with 6 clothespins, but ended up using 11 clothespins per hedgehog to fill it out.
Now punch 2 more circles from the same color cardstock as the face. Cut just the top off of each so that there’s a flat edge. Draw 3 lines with the black sharpie and glue to the edge of the face.
Oh, hedgehogs! These little guys are just too cute! I hope you and your little ones love them as much as we do. And be sure to check out all of our fun fall crafts at Our Kid Things!
