We’ve been having a lot of fun crafting with fall leaves and we love how this Paper Plate Fall Leaf Hedgehog Craft turned out! So lovely, it’s really a great fall craft that encompasses the beauty of the season in a super cute hedgehog.

Paper Plate Fall Leaf Hedgehog Craft

As with all of our fall leaf crafts, half the fun is getting outside to find the leaves. The more colors, sizes, and shapes the better. Then, cut a paper plate in half and glue the leaves until the plate is covered.

To make our fall leaf hedgehogs, you’ll want to print our leaf hedgehog template.

You’ll also need fall leaves, paper plates, brown and black paper, small googly eyes, a black marker, a ⅝” circle paper punch, scissors, and glue.

Leaf Hedgehog Craft Supplies Needed

Fall Hedgehog Craft Step by Step Directions

Begin by heading outside and gathering a bunch of leaves.

Gather leaves and a paper plate.

You’ll need to start with a paper plate, too.

Cut paper plate in half.

Cut the paper plate in half.

Glue on leaf.
Glue leaves on paper plate.

Now, start gluing leaves all around the plate. You should be generous with the glue to be sure the leaves fully stick.

Continue gluing leaves until paper plate is covered.

Continue gluing leaves until the paper plate is full.

Cut template pieces.

Then, print the hedgehog template. You can print on brown paper and cut out, or print on regular paper, cut out, then trace and cut out of the brown paper. You will also need a small circle of black paper for the nose.

Glue face shape to front of paper plate.

Glue the face shape to the front of the paper plate.

Add eye, nose, and mouth.

Add the circle nose in place. Glue an eye. Also, use a black marker to make a simple smile.

Glue feet to bottom of plate.

Finally, glue the feet in place at the bottom, flat edge of the paper plate to complete this super cute, and so very perfect for fall, hedgehog. Then just make sure you let the glue set so the leaves stay securely in place.
