Paper Plate Mummy Craft

Are mummies fun? I don’t know about most mummies. Most mummies seem rather serious and brooding, actually. These paper plate mummies are definitely fun, though. You can make your mummies in the colors of your choice, like green or purple, or make your mummy black. Then rip strips of white paper and glue across to wrap it up.

Mummy Paper Plate Craft Step by Step Directions

Start by painting a paper plate.

Paint paper plate.

Paint your paper plate in any color you think a mummy should be. We chose green, purple, and of course black for ours. All great choices. Let the paint dry completely.

Punch circles for eyes.

While the paint is drying, make the eyes by punching a 2” circle out of white paper, 1.5” circle from another color of paper, and a ⅝” pupil from another color. Again, any colors you want your mummy’s eyes to be.

Glue eyes in place.

Glue the eyes together. Then, when the paint is completely dry, glue the eyes in place.

Draw a simple large mouth with black marker.

Use a black marker to draw some sort of a large, simple mouth for the mummy. It doesn’t need to be anything exciting, as most of it will get covered.

Rip strips of white paper.

Now, rip strips of white paper.

Glue paper strips across paper plate.

Glue the paper strips across the paper plate mummy.

Continue gluing paper strips until mummy is wrapped.

Continue gluing the paper strips until your mummy is all wrapped up.
