Paper Straw Spider Craft

These paper straw spiders are a take on another favorite Halloween craft, our Paper Straw Skeleton Craft. Same idea, cut straws into pieces and glue in place. A simple concept that’s super fun.

Make a Spider with Paper Straws

Paper Straw Spider Craft supplies needed.

To make our Paper Straw Spider Craft you will need cardstock in your choice of background colors plus black, paper straws, googly eyes, a black marker, scissors, and glue.

Paper Straw Spider Craft Supplies Needed

  • Cardstock – black, your choice
  • Paper straws
  • Googly eyes, medium-large sizes
  • Black marker
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Easy Spider Craft Step by Step Directions

Begin by choosing the color cardstock of your choice for the background.

Cut spider body shape from black cardstock

Now, cut the spider body out of black cardstock. Make this any shape or size you’d like.

Glue in place on another sheet of cardstock.

Glue the spider body in place in the center the background.

Cut paper straws.

Next, cut up some paper straws. You will need 8 longer pieces and 8 shorter pieces.

Glue longer pieces coming off of spider body.

Glue the longer straw pieces coming off of the body.

Glue the shorter pieces angled off the longer pieces.

Then, glue the shorter straw pieces angled off of the longer straw pieces.

Position googly eyes.

Once the legs are in place, adhere googly eyes.

Draw a line down to the spider with a black marker.

Finally, draw a line with the black marker coming from the spider to the edge of the page, as if the spider is hanging down, building a web.
