Patriotic Streamer Paper Airplanes
Paper airplanes are a classic. I remember folding and flying them when I was a kid, having competitions with my brother about who could make theirs fly the farthest. These Patriotic Streamer Paper Airplanes are a red, white, and blue take on a classic, complete with streamers and stars.
We got the inspiration to add streamers by watching the Blue Angels and their smoke trail. Now we have patriotic planes ready for our own flyovers with their own tissue paper streamer “smoke trail”. It’s a sight to see the streamers fly through the air! This is the perfect craft to celebrate all those proud USA moments.

To make our Patriotic Streamer Paper Airplanes you will need lightweight construction paper in blue and red, tissue paper in blue and red, star stickers, a white marker, scissors, and a glue stick.
Patriotic Streamer Paper Airplanes
Supplies needed:
- Construction paper – blue, red
- Tissue paper – blue, red
- Star stickers – blue, red, white
- White marker
- Scissors
- Glue stick
To begin, we need to fold our paper airplane.
Start with a full sheet of construction paper, then fold in half length-wise. Then, either follow the image above or the included video for folding steps.
Once folded, add star stickers or draw your own with the white marker. Don’t add too many stickers so it doesn’t weigh down the paper airplane. Refold if needed.
Now cut strips of tissue paper.
Apply glue under the wings and add the tissue paper streamers.
Your planes are ready to fly! We love the addition of the “smoke trail” streamers. It’s so fun as they fly through the air!
