Peanut Butter & Chocolate Heart-Shaped Crescents

Peanut Butter & Chocolate Heart-Shaped Crescents, a yummy way to show your love on Valentine's Day!

Food is the quickest way to a person’s heart, as the saying goes. It’s true, though. Particularly when it’s sweet. And for me and my kids, too, there is no wrong when it’s chocolate.

Love is chocolate. Chocolate is love.

I picked up a jar of Peanut Butter Chocolate spread at the store, found around the peanut butters and other spreads, and while I easily could have eaten the entire jar with a spoon, I reluctantly agreed to share. So before it was all gone, I made these Peanut Butter & Chocolate Heart-Shaped Crescents for my kids and family as an early Valentine’s Day treat.

We’ll definitely be having these again before Valentine’s Day, though. With a dollop of Peanut Butter Chocolate spread filling between crescent rolls cut out to the shape of a heart, the only way to make them better is with a few peanut butter chips, too.

Without overfilling, add just enough that you can pinch the edges together with a fork to hold it all in without spilling out. Also, keep dough as cool as possible throughout the process, because the warmer it gets, the more misshapen it will bake up. Then bake for 10 minutes on a 375 degree oven or until just golden brown. These sweet crescents are a tasty way to find your way into someone’s heart. With a heart.

Ingredients

  • 1 8 oz. tube of 8 crescent rolls
  • Peanut Butter Chocolate spread
  • peanut butter chips

Instructions

  1. Roll out your crescent dough. Pinching together to attach two dough triangles, take a heart cookie cutter or knife, dipped lightly in flour, and cut out your heart shapes. You can get 2 heart 1 1/2 inch in size out of 2 triangles of dough.
  2. With a teaspoon, apply a small dollop of spread to center of one heart. Spread out slightly, leaving edges clear. Add about 5 peanut butter chips to each as well.
  3. Take another heart and put on top. With a fork, pinch edges together. Make 2 small slits in the center with a knife. Make sure rolls aren't sticking to pan before placing them in oven.
  4. Once all rolls are created, place in 375 degree oven for about 10 minutes or until top is just browned.
