Clothespin Bee Craft
This Pipe Cleaner Clothespin Bee Craft is a seriously cute spring craft, one that’s sure to cause buzz as it holds up a recent piece of artwork or picture. This coming from someone who’s legitimately terrified of real life bees. We’ve also included a Free Printable Bee Template, one that’s fully colored in and one for size purposes that you can color in yourself.
Like bees? Not me. I do, however, like bee crafts. Like this Paper Plate Interactive Bee Craft, our Pasta Bees Craft, and Cute Cork Bees Craft.
For our Clothespin Bee Craft you will need our Bee Template, cardstock in black and yellow, wood clothespins, shiny pipe cleaners, small googly eyes, a black marker, a glue stick, and scissors.
Clothespin Bee Craft
Supplies needed:
- Bee Template
- Wood clothespins
- Cardstock – black, yellow
- Shiny pipe cleaners
- Googly eyes, small
- Black marker
- Glue stick
- Scissors
First, print our Bee Template.
Cut out the pieces of the template. If using the colored in version, you can skip to simply gluing the pieces onto the clothespin. We traced ours on yellow paper and formed our own black lines with a black marker.
Adhere googly eyes on the small circle. The small circle is the size of the 1″ paper punch, which you could use instead of cutting out the template.
Then use the black marker to draw a simple mouth below the eyes.
Now form the pipe cleaner wings by first meeting the two ends of the pipe cleaner in a circle. Twist to secure.
Pinch the pipe cleaner together in the center.
And twist around to form like a bow shape.
Insert the pipe cleaner into a clothespin as far as it will go.
Cut the thinnest strip from the black cardstock. Fold the strip a V shape and glue to the top of the clothespin.
Glue the pieces from the template on the clothespin.
And you have the cutest spring clothespin!
It’s fun to make a few of the bees looking straight ahead, but you can also turn the bees head so it’s as if it’s looking at you while flying.
