Once upon a time, in a magical faraway land, a princess and a pony were born at the same moment with matching royal birthstones… And so begins the story of Pony Royale.
The Princess Ponies of Pony Royale are new customizable play figures for ages 3+. Proudly standing on their own, these ponies have interchangeable hair on both their tale and mane, as well as mix-able fashions.
Along with it’s own unique saddle, crown, brush and mane, what truly makes each stand out is the birthstone each pony wears signifying the month that pony was born in. Coinciding with my own daughter’s birthday, we received both Sunburst and Sienna to review, Topaz and Emerald, and I really liked how the birthstone set the tone for their respective personalities.
These are truly beautiful horses, with the possibilities for creative play extending to a wide age range. However, the hair comes out very easily when brushing. Also, the plastic the ponies are sold in I found difficult to get into. I literally had to tear it apart. Though I realize this isn’t necessarily a negative on the pony itself, and is more a normal aspect parents have to deal with when buying toys.
Abby really likes playing with her Princess Ponies, though, and her opinion is the main one that counts here. I look forward to adding to our collection soon, especially with Starfire, who wears my daughter’s Ruby birthstone for July.
Visit the Pony Royale website for more information. The Pony Royale collection will be available at Toys ‘R Us in late July and in select Target stores in August. Meanwhile, be sure to check out Pony Royale’s Facebook page and follow them on Twitter.
