Make a Turkey with a Potato Stamp
Supplies needed:
- Potato
- Brown acrylic paint
- Cardstock – brown, red, yellow
- Googly eyes, small/medium
- Markers – assortment of bright colors
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Have an adult cut a potato in half widthwise.
Also pour a generous amount of brown paint on a flat surface, like a paper paint.
Dip the cut end of the potato in the brown paint, covering it completely. Do a test stamp to dip off some of the excess.
Now, press the potato towards the bottom of a card of brown cardstock. Press all areas to make sure it distributes as evenly as possible.
Gently peel away from the cardstock. Let the paint dry.
Use a variety of colored markers to make feathers around the top of the stamp.
Next, adhere googly eyes. Cut a beak from the yellow cardstock and a snood from the red cardstock.
And glue those in place, as well, then continue stamping and making more turkeys!
Happy stamping! Be sure to check out more of our Thanksgiving crafts for kids at Our Kid Things!
