It’s amazing how one pimple can ruin your day. For teens and preteens they have it especially rough, with all the weird things breaking out and taking over their skin. Usually on the most important day of the year, like prom or class pictures. I remember those days well. Now that my oldest is already going through some changes at 12, and a soon to be teenager in just a few short months, I want to make sure he gets started on a skin care routine that will work with him to help him achieve the clearest skin possible. Because boys worry about that stuff, too. There’s enough to stress about, though, zits shouldn’t be one of them.
While at Walmart, I grabbed a few products from the AcneFree line for a Preteen Skin Care Routine Kit. This is a full line of products meant to help you treat and control acne.
New from AcneFree, the Sonic Advanced Cleaning Duo comes with a Purifying Facial Cleansing Brush and Oil-Free Purifying Cleanser that is meant to deep clean pores. Then there’s the 3-Step line from AcneFree that helps rebalance acne-prone skin.
The Daily Skin Therapy Acne Wash is a daily cleanser that removes dirt and oil deep down to the pores and purifies the skin to help prevent breakouts. This is Step 1.
Step 2 are the Daily Skin Therapy Pads that unclogs pores and tones your skin.
Then finally, there’s the Daily Skin Therapy Complexion Perfecting Cream. This lightweight cream gently renews your skin’s appearance for a clearer complexion.
Also in our Skin Care Routine Kit that we’re keeping readily available next to the bathroom sink so he can never say that he forgot, are plenty of washcloths along with some simple Do’s and Don’ts for clearer skin:
DO: Wash your skin regularly. Morning and night.
DO: Keep your AcneFree skin care supplies handy.
DO: Offer advice when needed. We’ve all been there and we can share what may have worked for us before.
DON’T: Pick at your skin. If you happen to get a pimple, picking at it will only make it worse.
DON’T: Scrub too hard. Wash your face gently.
In his own words:
I didn’t think I would have to worry about acne yet, but I’m glad I have products and am starting to take care of my skin before I get any breakouts. I like that the products are numbered, so it’s easy to know what to do in the order I’m supposed to use them in.
