Recycled CD Valentine’s Day Love Bird

We’re having a lot of fun crafting decorations for Valentine’s Day, and this Recycled CD Valentine’s Day Love Bird craft has to be one of my favorites! Not only is it such a simple and sweet project, but it recycles old CDs, which is one of my favorite materials to work with as we have so many of them around here.

The heart shapes we used to make our Recycled CD Valentine’s Day Love Bird wings came in a package marked “heart confetti” found in the Valentine’s aisle, though when I think of confetti I think of little pieces. They’re the same hearts we used for our Heart Straw Rockets, and they come in 3 different sizes and styles. Of course, you could always just cut hearts out of paper.

Glue a large heart over the CD hole. Glue 2 smaller hearts on back for a tail. Add a couple feet, an eye, and a beak, and you have the cutest, shiniest Love Bird around!

Cut a pair of feet out of black construction paper and punch a small hole out of the black paper, as well. Use the small circle of paper that was punched out for your bird’s eye and glue in place on the front of the CD.

Glue the feet on the bottom of the back of the CD. Cut a small triangle out of red paper and glue in place for it’s beak.
