Newspaper Flowers Craft
When I think about Earth Day, I think of reuse and recycle. So, when we started getting supplies together for an Earth Day craft, I knew I wanted to utilize both of those aspects. We ended up with a spring scene of Reuse and Recycle Newspaper Flowers Craft!
This Newspaper Flowers Craft is so pretty. As the name suggests, it utilizes yesterday’s newspaper as the petals for the recycling aspect. For reuse, we used iced coffee bottle caps in the center of each flower. Because I definitely drink enough of it! Paint, glue, construction paper, and scissors round out the supplies list.

Supplies needed:
- newspaper
- iced coffee bottle caps
- green and yellow paper
- paints
- glue
- scissors
Cut petals out of your newspaper. You’ll need 5 petals for each flower. Lay down a line of glue and arrange them so they overlap just a little bit.
Paint the inside of your bottle caps whatever colors you would like. Glue your bottle cap in the center of your flower.
Cut strips of green paper for the stems and glue in place. With a slight wave, cut more of the green paper for the grass.
Reduce, reuse, recycle. We made a beautiful spring craft that’s a perfect way to celebrate and learn about Earth Day! Be sure to check out more of our Earth Day ideas at Our Kid Things!
