Rolled Paper Snake Craft
There’s not many times when I’m happy to see a snake. But I am happy when they’re as cute, colorful, and harmless as our Rolled Paper Snake Craft!
This Rolled Paper Snake Craft is made exactly how it sounds. Simply roll up strips of paper, each about an inch wide, using a glue stick to adhere together. The only trick here is to use as many different colors and patterns of paper as possible. Then, thread onto a pipe cleaner. Add a tongue and small googly eyes, then bend into shape.
There are very few supplies need to make a Rolled Paper Snake Craft. Mainly, you need paper. Lots of paper, in different colors and patterns. We used plain colored cardstock, polka dot colored cardstock, and patterned scrapbook paper. Aside from paper, you’ll need glue, pipe cleaners, small googly eyes, and scissors.

Supplies needed:
- Paper – variety of colors and patterns, red cardstock
- Pipe cleaners
- Small googly eyes
- Glue & glue stick
- Scissors
Begin by cutting about 1” wide strips from your paper. With each strip, you can probably cut each down to 3 sections. You just need enough to roll up.
Take each strip of paper and run a glue stick over the end. Roll the other end up around your fingers into the glue. Press to adhere.
Continue until all papers are rolled up.
Slide one rolled up paper onto a pipe cleaner. Bend the pipe cleaner over the paper.
Then, thread about 12 more rolled papers onto the pipe cleaner until you reach the other end.
Once the pipe cleaner is full, bend the other end of pipe over the last paper to secure in place.
For the tongue, cut a thin rectangle of red cardstock. Cut a V into one end.
Glue the tongue between the end of the last roll of paper. Also, glue 2 small googly eyes in place. All that’s left now is to bend your snake until it gets to the shape you want.
