Salt Painted Easter Eggs
If the price of eggs is a little too crazy for egg dying this Easter, then you’ll definitely have a lot of fun making our Salt Painted Easter Eggs! A great Easter craft that’s full of creativity. And who doesn’t love the opportunity to play with paint?
You really only need a few supplies for these salt painted Easter eggs, but there are so many possibilities. This is such a fun open-ended paint project that everyone is sure to love!
Salt Paint Easter Egg Paint Project
To make our salt painted Easter eggs you will need heavy white cardstock, watercolors, glue, and regular table salt. Few supplies, so many possibilities!
Easter Eggs Paint Project Step by Step Directions
To begin, gather your white cardstock. You can use as big a piece as you’d like, to make eggs as big as you’d like, but we used smaller card sized cardstock.
Now, draw an egg design on the cardstock. Don’t worry if you have some glops or if some of the lines run together, just try to make sure the lines are smooth. You may need to practice a line or two before starting your eggs.
Once the egg is designed, pour a generous amount of regular table salt over all the glue.
Flick off all the excess salt. We save all the excess to use on other eggs.
Then, gather your watercolors. Load your brush with paint and begin lightly touching the glue lines with the paintbrush.
The colors will bleed and run together, making really pretty eggs.
When your egg is finished, all that’s left is to make sure it’s flat and while it dries completely.
