From picnics to splashing in the pool, there are so many fun activities that we’re planning this summer. Whether swimming, heading off on a road trip, or a day at the lake, through it all we’re going to need some great snacks that we can take on-the-go. Because when our bellies are happy, we’re happy.
To further fuel the snacktime excitement, we picked up Glad Sandwich bags with some of our favorite characters! These Glad sandwich and snack bags are now available at Kroger. We made sure to pick up a pack of Hidden Valley Ranch To-Go Cups for easier dip and running, too.
With 4 familiar character designs, these zipper bags are perfect to store our sandwiches or snacks in our picnic basket, as well as the back to school lunchbox.
Back to school? It will be here before you know it! But for now, let’s enjoy our summer.
A summer needs picnics, even if it’s just in your backyard. And even if your picnic feast is just bags pretzels, make them the most delicious pretzels ever, like our Seasoned Baked Pretzels & Crackers.
Also, if you think about, the pretzels are like little fighting sticks and the oyster crackers like battling ships. Good vs. evil, you could say. Even though they’re both good. Really, really good.
Dipped in Hidden Valley Ranch? Even better!
For these Seasoned Baked Pretzels & Crackers, you first need to mix together some spices. That makes sense, right?
Ground Cayenne Pepper, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Salt, and a packet of dry Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing mix are all combined together with vegetable oil.
Pour equal parts into the bags with the pretzels and oyster crackers.
Zip the bags closed, then shake it all around. Let it sit and soak in all those delicious flavors.
Spread the seasoned pretzels and crackers evenly on baking sheets and bake in a 200 degree oven for about an hour. Be sure to check on them and toss over a time or two so the bottoms don’t burn.
Once baked, let cool. Store in sealable bags. Let the flavors fight it out over a cup of Hidden Valley Ranch.

Seasoned Baked Pretzels & Crackers
This recipe makes 2 full bags of pretzel sticks and oyster crackers. Ingredient amounts can easily be cut in half if needed, but believe me, they go fast!
Ingredients
- 2 tsp ground cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp lemon pepper
- 3 tsp garlic salt
- 1 pckg dry Hidden Valley Ranch dressing
- 1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 15 oz bag mini pretzel sticks
- 9 oz bag oyster crackers
Instructions
- Mix together cayenne, lemon pepper, garlic salt, dry Hidden Valley Ranch, and vegetable oil.
- Place pretzel sticks and oyster crackers in separate sandwich bags.
- Evenly distribute mixture to bags. I used 4 bags, 2 pretzel sticks and 2 crackers, so poured approximately 1/4 of the mixture into each bag.
- Zip bags closed. Shake well.
- Let marinate for at least 2 hours.
- Bake in a 200 degree oven for about an hour, checking and turning as needed.
- Let cool. Store in clean snack bags.
