Simple Paper Turtle Craft
Some days, on those warm summer days, you need to just take it slow. Like a turtle. And some days, you need to take it a step further and make your own turtle, especially when it’s as easy as our Simple Paper Turtle Craft!
I’ve always been fascinated with turtles. How slow, gentle, and deliberate they are. I mean, they just don’t seem to get very far unless they absolutely need to. It’s the whole tortoise or the hare question, and somehow the tortoise always seems to come out on top.

Speaking of on top, this Simple Paper Turtle Craft is tops in our book! We love how easy it is to create, especially with our Free Turtle Template. Aside from the template, the rest of the supplies include green construction paper, paints, medium googly eyes, a black pen, clear tape, glue, and scissors.
Simple Paper Turtle Craft
Supplies needed:
- Free Turtle Template
- Green construction paper
- Paint – colors of choice
- Googly eyes
- Black pen
- Clear tape
- Glue
- Scissors
Begin by printing our Free Turtle Template.
Use the turtle template as a guide to cut the shape from a full sheet of green construction paper.
Cut the lines in the center, making sure you don’t cut all the way through.
Fold right at the circle the legs, turtle, and head up.
Paint the main body however you’d like your turtle. Yellows and other shades of green are good for the normal turtle, or make him colorful. Let paint dry.
Overlap one side of the cut over the side until you have a symmetrical cone shape. Do the same on both cuts.
Tape the paper in place to secure.
Fold over the front of the head flap. Apply googly eyes.
Draw on a mouth with a black pen. Cut excess paper from feet, then draw toes on the feet pieces with the black pen, as well.
