We have included a Free Printable R2D2 Template, because there are quite a few pieces to this craft, all in simple shapes of circles, squares, rectangles, and a couple triangles. They’re all color coded, too, for extra ease. They all form together to make a really cute R2D2.

Simple Shape R2D2 Craft Supplies Needed
- R2D2 Template
- Cardstock – white, black, blue, gray
- Metallic markers – silver, blue
- Scissors
- Glue stick
R2D2 Star Wars Craft Step by Step Directions
Begin by printing the R2D2 template. You can save yourself a step by printing the template on white cardstock.

Cut out all the pieces of the template. The pieces are all color coded. You can leave the white as is if printed on white cardstock. Trace and cut out all the other pieces as noted. We used 2 different shades of blue, but using the same shade will work just as fine.

Now, glue the large white rectangle in the center of a sheet of black cardstock. Cut the large circle in half and glue one half to the top of the rectangle.

Next, make the arms of R2D2 by gluing a blue rectangle to either side of the white rectangle body. Glue a white square to the top of the rectangle. Then glue the peak of a blue triangle to the back of one of the other white squares and glue in place at the bottom of the rectangle.

Do the same for the other side.

Then, glue the larger blue square to the center of the half circle top of R2D2.

Glue the large black circle in the blue square for his “eye”.

Now, glue the 2 thin blue rectangle strips under the eye of R2D2. Additionally, there are 2 small blue rectangles that go on either side of the eye, as well.

The next step is to glue the larger blue rectangle vertically on R2D2’s body and glue the 2 gray circles in the rectangle.

Finally, use metallic markers to add details on R2D2. We used the blue metallic marker to add lines for definition on his arms, bottom, and at the top of him.

Use the silver metallic marker to draw a simple reflection curve on his eye. Also use the silver metallic marker to draw small stars on the black background.

We hope you love this R2D2 Star Wars craft as much as we do!
