Simple Shape Raccoon Craft
This Shape Raccoon Craft uses little more than triangles, rectangles, and a circle for one of the cutest fall animal crafts!
There’s just something about the simplicity of crafting fall animals that we really enjoy. We can’t get enough of this Paper Bag Hedgehog Craft and I have to say these Cardboard Roll Yarn Wrapped Bears are awfully cute, too. We also made a Cardboard Roll Raccoons Craft, as well.
For our Shape Raccoon Craft you will need a light tan or grey cardstock or light cardboard. We used an empty cereal box, because you improvise when you don’t have the exact right color paper. It works, though. You’ll also need black cardstock, small-medium googly eyes, black marker, 1” circle punch, scissors, and glue.
Shape Raccoon Craft
- Cardstock – black and grey (or light cardboard like a cereal box)
- Small-medium googly eyes
- Black marker
- 1” circle punch
- Scissors
- Glue
Begin by forming the shapes needed for the raccoon.
To start, you will need to cut 5 total triangles from the grey or light tan cardboard/paper. 2 large triangles, a smaller triangle for the tail, and two even smaller triangles for the ears.
Glue all the triangles in place. One large cardboard over the top point of the other, the ears at the top, and the tail glued behind at an angle.
Now cut a large rectangle from the black cardstock. Also cut 4 smaller rectangles.
Glue the large rectangle across the top triangle. Glue the 4 smaller rectangles along the tail.
Punch a circle from the black cardstock and adhere at the tip of the top triangle for the raccoon’s nose.
Adhere googly eyes. Finish by adding detail to the ears with the black marker
Not only is it a really cute fall craft, but a great way for little ones to further learn their shapes, too. For more ideas, be sure to check out all of our fun fall crafts at Our Kid Things!
