Kittens are probably the most adorable pet you can bring into your home. They start off so tiny and timid, then they get a bit bigger and become small bundles of energy. Their cute little meow and their soft purring will melt your heart!
When you have a kitten, it’s so important that you keep them as healthy as can be. Especially if you want them to grow up and be big and strong in the future. Keeping this in mind, here are a few very simple steps you can follow to keep your kitten healthy:
Vaccination is so important when you have a small kitten in your life. Just like baby humans, baby cats have weak immune systems and are prone to picking up diseases and illnesses. So, it’s important you take them to your local veterinary clinic to get them vaccinated against various common diseases. When your kitten gets a little bit older, it will start walking around more and being more adventurous. As a result, it can be around different things outside that are likely to give it diseases if it doesn’t get this vaccination.
Feed Them Properly
It’s so important that you feed your kitten properly if you want it to stay healthy. Too much bad food can lead to weight gain, and you’ll have a fat little kitten that’s not active and not healthy. Feed it too little, and you’ll have a tired kitten that’s just skin and bone all the time. So, you have to strike that perfect balance and make sure you feed them regularly during the day. My personal suggestion is to stick with generic cat food or food designed for kittens. Don’t get adventurous and feed them things from your fridge, cat food is made for cats, it contains everything they need. Plus, you can get cat food that has feeding instructions, so you know how much to feed your kitten and how often to do so.
Coupled in with this I will also say you need to provide them with a drink at all times. Make sure their water bowl is easy to reach and always full. Especially when you go to sleep, or you leave your kitten alone as you have to go out.

You need to groom and wash your kitten to keep it nice and healthy. As mentioned, kittens like to be a bit adventurous and go outside. Here, they can become dirty or pick up things like fleas. If you groom your cat, you can get rid of dirt and fleas before these things start damaging the health of your cat.
Finally, make sure you always take your kitten to the vet for a yearly checkup. Here, a veterinary professional can look at your kitten and see if it’s healthy or not. They’ll check for any diseases and provide you with advice if your kitten needs to be fed more or if they’re suffering from something.
Follow these steps, and your beautiful little kitten will remain healthy and grow into a lovely cat that’s full of life!
