Having a child with type 1 diabetes means having a variety of snacks with a specific amount of carbohydrates around the house in case his blood sugar plummets. These snacks are hopefully more nutritious than a bar of chocolate, though that does work when needed and you won’t hear Jedi complain about this option.
Recently, I was introduced to the wonders of soy protein. Soy protein helps support healthy growth and development while fighting against childhood obesity. Additionally, incorporating high-quality proteins, such as soy protein, into children’s diets supports their immune systems.
I was sent a few snack options to test out, each full of soy protein. An A3 Honey Graham S’mores bar as well as one Nogii Kids Chocolate Chip bar. Chocolate chips! Not only did these items taste like a treat, I like knowing they’re helping my kids power through the day in a healthier way. Also, while these aren’t specifically for diabetics, they just so happen to contain the perfect amount of carbs for us.
It’s a win!
Along with the snack bars, we were also sent a coupon for one free MorningStar Farms product. Like the bars, MorningStar Farms products are full of soy protein! They also come in a variety of flavors for every meal idea you and your kids can think of! Soy protein shouldn’t replace the protein found in other foods, but it’s a great option for something different.
And I have a Prize Pack packed with soy protein to giveaway so you can test it for yourself!
