Sponge Stamped Easter Crafts

Gather some sponges and make our trio of super cute Sponge Stamped Easter Crafts! We have a bunny, a chick, and sheep, all made by stamping paint with a sponge then adding on the last few details with markers.

Our sponge stamped Easter animal crafts are so cute, and a perfect Easter toddler craft. There’s really not many ways these crafts could go wrong, and you get to play with paint. What really could be better?

Easter Crafts Sponge Stamping Craft

To make our trio of Easter crafts you will need regular kitchen sponges, acrylic paint in black, white, and yellow, small googly eyes, markers, blue cardstock, scissors, and glue.

Sponge Stamp Easter Crafts Supplies Needed

  • Sponges
  • Acrylic paint – black, white, yellow
  • Blue cardstock
  • Googly eyes, small
  • Markers – white, black, gold metallic, blue metallic
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Sponge Stamped Easter Crafts Step by Step Directions

Start with cards of cardstock. 

Cut cardstock in half, then in half again.

We used slightly different shades of blue cardstock that we cut in half then in half again to make a card size.

Dip sponge in yellow paint.

Now, pour yellow, white, and black paint on paper plates. Also cut sponges into circles. Dip a sponge into the yellow paint to make a chick.

Press sponge onto blue cardstock.
Yellow sponge stamp.

Then press onto the blue cardstock.

White sponge stamp.

Do the same for white for the bunny.

Stamp black paint for the sheep.

Stamp the black, as well, for the sheep. Let all the paint dry completely.

Glue googly eyes.

Once dry, glue googly eyes onto each.

Use gold metallic marker to draw wings, tuft of hair, and legs on chick.

Next, use a gold metallic marker to draw wings, a tuft of hair on top, and legs on the chick. Also draw a beak.

Use white paint marker to draw bunny ears and whiskers.
Fill in ears and draw a nose with a blue metallic marker.

Use the white paint marker to draw whiskers and bunny ears. Then fill in the ears with a blue metallic marker. Also use the blue metallic marker to add a bunny nose.

Draw floppy ears for the sheep with a black marker.
Use white paint marker to draw simple mouth.

For the sheep, use the black marker to draw simple floppy ears. Then use the white paint marker to draw a simple mouth.

Use your fingers and white paint to make wool on top of sheep's head.

We also used our fingers and white paint to make fluffs of wool on top of its head.

Materials
