Taco-Style Sloppy Joe Sliders
My kids love sloppy joes night. I love sloppy joes nights, because they’re just so easy. That Joe he’s a great guy, if a bit messy. I’m always looking for new ways to fix some of our favorites, though. And it’s even better when I can turn our sloppy joes into sliders, like we did with this recipe for Taco-Style Sloppy Joe Sliders.
These Taco-Style Sloppy Joe Sliders start like all beef-based sloppy joes whether you fix it from a can or fresh, and that’s by browning ground beef. Then, in a medium-sized bowl, combine the beef, jalapenos, tomatoes, sauce and seasoning.
Cut a sheet of dinner or sandwich rolls in half through the middle to create two “slices” of sandwich sheets. Place the bottom half of the sandwich sheet in the casserole dish.
Fold the ground beef mixture overtop of the bottom half of the sandwich sheet and place the mozzarella evenly on top of that.
Add the top half of the sandwiches, and pour over the melted butter, if using. Cover the casserole dish with tinfoil and bake for 20-30 minutes until the butter has completely absorbed into the rolls.
What comes out of the oven will be your new family favorite. This batch of Taco-Style Sloppy Joe Sliders is such a great weeknight meal, and a perfect spin on a classic. I love, the kids love, we all love, and I hope you love, too.
