I’ve been feeling kind of blah lately. If that’s not an accurate description, then I don’t know what else to say. Blah.
As such, I’ve decided to embark on a quest to better myself. Most of it is all in my mind, I’m sure. I feel down about a certain aspect of my life and that crashes everything else with it. So, I’m lifting myself up and getting rid of the blahs with a few changes.
1. Dress Better
It’s no surprise that how you look is a direct correlation to how you feel. When you look better, you feel better and give off a more positive energy. I’ve been stuck in tshirts and jeans for far too long, it’s time to expand my horizons. Barbara Casasola has beautiful designer clothing, especially evening wear. I need to find somewhere to wear one of these dresses to.
2. Live Better
My house has a tendency to run away from me. The toys pile up and before I know it, I’ve given up on ever keeping anything clean ever again. I mean, ever. That may be an exaggeration, but it’s also true. And I know I feel better about myself when I’m not stepping over legos and filth all day.
3. Eat Better
This is an area that I have approved on, but I know I can still get better. I’ve found vegetables that I really enjoy eating with every meal and I’ve given up my nightly bowl of ice cream. Now if I could just do the same with caffeine.
4. Parent Better
I do the best I can. Sometimes, though, I don’t feel like that’s very much. I need to work on being more present and in the moment, instead of focusing on what I should be doing instead. Patience and love are what they’ll remember, I need to continue to remind myself.
Improving oneself is a constant and continual work-in-progress. If nothing else, I do know that tomorrow I will be better than I am today. If not, I can always try again the next day.
