Adhere googly eyes.

Adhere googly eyes. Self-adhesive googly eyes work best on cardboard rolls. We always seem to have a hard time getting glued eyes to stick just right on the roll.

Draw nose and mouth with black sharpie.

Use the black sharpie to make simple nose and mouth shapes.

Cut hat pieces from cardstock.

Now, cut the green cardstock into a simple hat shape to fit across the roll with a brim and smaller rectangle for the top. Also cut a smaller strip from the black cardstock and a smaller square of yellow.

Glue hat pieces together.

Glue all the pieces together.

Make small snips in top of cardboard roll.

Then, cut two snips on the top of the roll on either side.

Insert hat into snips.

Slide the hat into the slits.

Make cuts up the orange beard of the cardboard roll.
