Triple Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats
You have melted marshmallows in melted butter stirred into cereal, so how can Rice Krispie Treats get any better? If you’re anything like us, all you have to do is add chocolate.
But not just a few chocolate chips, which would be a good addition in and of itself. No, we went triple chocolate. With white chocolate chips and semi-sweet chips stirred into the cereal mixture, then creamy Nutella drizzled over the top. They’re messy, definitely. And so, so good. I had to stand guard so my kids wouldn’t eat them all in one sitting. Though to be honest, they probably should have been the ones to stand guard over me.
The classic Rice Krispie Treat recipe serves as the base of these Triple Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a large pot, add in 4 cups of mini-marshmallows, then 6 cups of cereal. Then we go chocolate overboard with ½ cup each of white chocolate chips and semi-sweet chips. Top with Nutella.
Thank you, chocolate Gods, for this amazing chocolate, gooey treat. Rice Krispie Treats with the addition of 3 different chocolates.
