Who wants to spend hours slaving in the kitchen over a homemade meal? I know I would much rather spend that time with my family. That why there’s Marie Callender’s pot pies, a meal that tastes like homemade with a lot less work.
With my 3 kids, our nights are usually quite hectic. Between normal chores, helping my kids with homework, trying to fit in some time to finish up work while also spending time together, there’s not a lot of room for anything else. It can be bedtime before I know it. Thus, I gladly take all the help I can get. That includes grabbing an easy meal from the freezer section at Walmart.
We recently tried a Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie for the first time and said #PotPiePlease! I couldn’t believe the amazing flavor. Homemade gravy mixed with vegetables and all white-meat chicken, in a golden, perfectly flaky crust that’s made from scratch. Just like mama used to make. Pot pies simply feel like home and this time of year, it’s an especially cozy way of warming up from a day spent out in the cold.
As is the case with many kids, mine are reluctant to eat vegetables. With them baked in the pot pie mixed with so many other amazing flavors, however, they didn’t utter a word of disapproval. Our favorite part was the flaky crust, though.
As the Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie is a complete meal in itself, all you’ll need are rolls to mop up and savor every last bit of gravy from the pot pie. We picked up a pack of Ciabatta rolls in Walmart’s bakery section. I cut each roll in half then spread each half with a lemon honey compound butter.
The lemon honey compound butter helps add a bit of sweetness to a great meal. You can spread this butter on any roll, biscuit, muffin, bread or scone. Mix it up and pack into small jars for a gift this holiday season, too. Cute and tasty!
A sweet spread great on any bread! Put in small jars for a tasty gift, too.

There’s nothing better than the Marie Callender’s pot pies! I can’t always make it to the restaurant, so it’s wonderful I can pick them up at my grocery store.
Lemon butter seems like the perfect way to dress rolls for your pot pie! Yes, veggies always taste better when cooked in a savory gravy. The kids know that. π

I like to serve these with a big garden salad. Either way, it’s a great no-fuss meal.
