Fall Leaves Printable
When the season starts switching from summer to fall then the leaves start changing and falling, too, that’s my absolute favorite time of year. Before that first orange leaf hits the ground, however, we’re printing and playing with the colors in Watercolor and Black Glue Fall Leaves with Fall Leaves Free Printable!
To begin with our Watercolor and Black Glue Fall Leaves you’ll need to download and print our Fall Leaves Free Printable on heavy cardstock or watercolor paper.

Then, follow these quick steps for how to make a bottle of black glue. This is easily done with a half-used bottle of glue and some regular black paint. Begin by pouring the paint into the glue and mixing with a wood skewer until the paint is thoroughly incorporated. Once the paint and glue are combined, test the black glue on a scrap piece of paper for desired darkness and flow. Make some lines to practice and get used to it before hopping over to our Fall Leaves Free Printable.
Making your own black glue is super easy, but you can buy bottles of black glue already made. Some pre-made black glue also has sparkles, which would make a nice effect.
Then, with a bottle of black glue ready and our Fall Leaves Free Printable printed, start painting the leaves with your choice of fall watercolors. Or, outline in black glue first then fill in with watercolors. Either way, just wait for the first step to dry completely. This is at least a few hours and preferably overnight or you will have a mess on the paper instead of colorful leaves that pop. But, you can always come back, print, and try again.
Then, finish with your outline. Or fill in with watercolors. Whatever way you decided to go with this. Two steps, trace and fill. Fill and trace. The outcome is the same. You don’t necessarily need to outline our Fall Leaves Free Printable with black glue, either. A regular black marker would work, as well. Our sheet can also be used as a fall coloring page with crayons or colored pencils. But I love how the watercolors pop against the black glue outline.
